An app should keep getting better after launch.

What Underscore believes, in eight short lines.

  1. 01

Your launch was a first version.

Most apps go quiet after launch. Small changes start to feel risky, so nothing ships. The app stops moving while the people using it keep needing more. That is how an app becomes abandonware. It does not have to.

  2. 02

Your users show where it hurts.

Real people show where an app gets in the way: the step they leave, the form they try twice, the page they never reach. Underscore starts from what they did, not from a guess. A page exit alone does not prove that something broke.

  3. 03

    You keep the vision.

You say what the app is for. You set the current goal and the guardrails, the things that must not get worse. Nothing Underscore drafts replaces them until you make it yours.

  4. 04

Underscore proposes the next version, with its sources shown.

Underscore builds the next change the way the best apps do. Every proposal shows where it came from: the visits, the cases, the pages it read. Patterns from other apps inform a change. They do not prove it will work for your users.

  5. 05

Nothing ships that breaks what must not get worse.

Guardrails hold across every goal. A change that breaks one does not ship. A guardrail with no check yet is shown as not watched, never as passing.

  6. 06

    You choose what ships.

The hard part was yours. Every proposal is a question, not a command. Underscore does only what you allow, within a scope you can read, and the answer is always yours.

  7. 07

    Evidence over claims.

Say what was seen, what it might mean, and what is still unknown. Shipping a change, passing a Trial and helping real people are three separate claims. Underscore never claims a benefit it has not measured.

  8. 08

Fit is built one version at a time.

Fit with the people using your app is not reached once. It is built release by release. Every case, Trial and choice is remembered and carried into the next version.

Where Underscore is today

This is the direction. Today, Underscore helps you set an app's vision, goal and guardrails, review real visits, and rehearse a possible change in a Trial on a preview. Delivering live versions and measuring their effect is still being built.
